    What makes it fun

The Museum of the Red River is a history making kind of date. With fascinating exhibits ranging from Native American artifacts to prehistoric fossils (yes, we’re talking dinosaurs), every corner gives you something new to discover together. The museum is quiet, thoughtful, and just the right amount of intriguing, which means you can wander at your own pace, lean in close to read displays, and sneak in some hand holding. You’ll find spacious indoor galleries, a gift shop for a keepsake, and even a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden that’s perfect for a peaceful stroll. With free admission, it's a great date that won't break the bank.

The staff were so nice to us. We visited this museum twice because my son is dinosaur obsessed. I love that it has a calm play area for the kids. The old kids and adults can enjoy all the many artifacts, then take a break and let the younger kids explore the kids area.

Amazing collection of artifacts spanning so many ethnic cultures. Just because the artisans were "primitive", they certainly weren't stupid. Very humbling. A lovely small museum. And, a delightful selection of gifts, including a huge selection of books.

We came in on an suggestion from a local artist, and we had so much fun! The arrowhead collection was really cool, as was the Spanish helmet! The Dino was what brought us in. There was a drum that the kids could play, and just so much cool stuff.

The trip was enjoyable, and we appreciated the opportunity to explore new places. Some of us chose to relax near the water, which was quite refreshing. The curated museum provided a fascinating glimpse into history and culture. We all had a day filled with diverse activities. It was a lovely experience overall, allowing everyone to pursue their interests.

Very cool and informative museum. I hope they grow and expand. Some really neat pieces. The kids of course loved the dinosaur skeleton.

A wonderful museum, I highly recommend visiting! So much history and artifacts from all over the world. They have a massive collection of woven baskets.
There are some fun, interactive things for the kids
