Abendigo's

While visiting Hochatown (just outside Broken Bow), we stopped at Abendigo’s Grill & Patio after a long day at the maze. The restaurant has a much more upscale atmosphere than most of the surrounding area.

We didn’t have reservations, and the only seating available was the community table. My 10-year-old has sensory sensitivities and isn’t comfortable sitting with strangers, so this wasn’t ideal. Thankfully, no one else joined our table. For such a large restaurant in a busy tourist destination, I wish there were a few more options for walk-in guests.

Once we were seated, everything else was excellent. Our waitress was outstanding and immediately replaced our drinks when we noticed they were flat. The food was phenomenal. My son said the chicken tenders were some of the best he’d ever had, and my burger was easily one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft inside.

The prices are on the higher end, but the quality matches the experience. They also have live music on most nights and an onsite gift shop similar to Cracker Barrel, which is fun to browse before or after your meal.

I’d absolutely return, but next time I’d make reservations. If you’re looking for one of the best meals in the Hochatown/Broken Bow area, Abendigo’s is definitely worth a visit.

For the main course, I had the 16 oz ribeye cooked medium rare, and it was hands-down one of the best steaks I’ve had in years. Legitimately melt-in-your-mouth tender with amazing flavor in every bite. You can tell they know exactly what they’re doing in the kitchen.

The Parmesan truffle fries were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, and even the green beans stood out — firm, fresh, and cooked just right, not underdone or mushy.

The beers were ice cold, and the outdoor patio atmosphere made the whole experience even better. They had live music playing, a very chill vibe, and it wasn’t overcrowded at all. It honestly felt like the perfect place to relax, unwind, and forget about the world for a few hours.

From appetizers to sides to the steak itself, everything was on point. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend Abendigo’s if you’re anywhere near Hochatown.

It was too early for live music, but we still enjoyed sitting outside and found it easy to talk even though there were a bunch of tables full around us. Plus our server was very friendly and attentive.

We both got steak, so it was definitely a little pricey, but it was so delicious that it was worth the cost. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town!
